I'm going to try something major. Art-wise. So far, I've been just copying manga pictures. The closest to developing my own "artstyle" is by looking at Advent Children and Crisis Core pictures and then drawing the characters. They're about as close to real-person-to-manga kind of drawings I've ever done. The only example in my dA being Reno. Well, maybe I'll post up Zack (2nd Class hairstyle) soon...

So what am I going to do? See, I'm reading the ICE series of books by Anne Stuart. They're awesome by the way, although the formula does get a bit repetitive, and I started with the 2nd and then the 3rd book. ANYWAY. Anne Stuart is a fan of J-Rock (she loves Gackt like WOAH. Don't believe me? Check out the dedications on The Devil's Waltz and Ice Blue.) and Japanese related things. Meaning video games too. I saw on her blog something related to Vincent Valentine, and in Ice Blue, the male lead's younger cousin is based on Reno, looks-wise. Yes, Reno from Final Fantasy VII. Hell, he even has the same name!

Well, not really the same. But he took the name "Reno" to be used, and doesn't use his real given name in Ice Blue. And he's going to be the starring character in Fire & Ice. LIKE ZOMG. I'm so desperately trying to find it! It's not funny. Heh.

Anyway, I've rambled. A lot. The point is, I'm planning to draw this Reno, or rather, his real name is Shinoda Hiromasa. Full bodied. In the gear he's been so far described in. Which is damn sexy: BLACK LEATHER. COWBOY BOOTS. GUH.

Haha, but I suspect that I'll end up drawing a version of FFVII's Reno instead, though there are some differences in facial features between Hiro (I adore the name Hiro XD) and Reno. Hmm... Guess I'll be taking a hell lot of references. Leather pants. I have no experience in drawing that. I think I shall reference Sephiroth's leather pants. And spend a great deal of time staring at Seph's ass. Oh god yes. On second thoughts, I can also try Genesis. GUH.

Haha, anyway, this will be a big project of sorts for me to think about. Must be crazy to actually think of it now, when I'm supposed to be studying for my exams. Eh well. I always get epic ideas when I'm not supposed to. Still, I need to gather enough reference materials before I start. So I think I'll have to wait anyway.

And surprisingly, this has popped up on dA first before hitting my LJ. XD Guess it's because there's more relevance here... and hopefully I can draw some advice~!
